Windlesora 21 - Water

Riverside Gardens and Castle, Windsor - The Cover of Windlesora 21

The River Thames features heavily with articles about the organisations that used the river for training and recreational purposes.

  • The first Sea Cadet unit was formed in Windsor
  • Sea Rangers had a very active company in the town
  • The history of the Eton Excelsior Rowing Club is traced from its small beginnings to the recent expansion prompted by the success of our Olympic rowers.
  • Windsor Swimming Club originally used the river for its meetings, practice and competitions.
  • Wells and waterworks are covered
  • There is a very detailed article about the fountain that adorned the Castle Courtyard in Tudor times.
